Definitely pay these guys a visit. Had an awesome experience. The food is great, customer service fantastic, AND they gave us free fries for no reason! Will be back very soon!

I would like the ownership to see my additions to the review. They might just like it. As I was unable to submit a new review, please read the bottom portion. As you see Even my star rating went up.

Even with change of ownership few years back this place is exactly the same as decades ago. Nothing ever changes here. Food is not that good, staff as rude as always, ownership thinks they're the best thing since sliced bread. Although I have to admit that the meat sauce was a bit better on this visit, but I wouldn't count on this to last.

I hope the ownership will get to see my edited review and I hope they'll like my thoughts from my visit to the restaurant last week.
I was pleasantly surprised to see the staff with smiles on their faces, being courties, polite, even cracking a joke here and there. So pleased to see people actually enjoying working.
I'm not sure what you guys did with the meat sauce for hot dogs but keep doing it. It tasted 200% better.
Maybe the smiles on employee's faces is the secret sauce ingredient.
Whatever it is, keep up the good work. My husband and I will definitely be stopping by more often.

Many people are still eating Capital Lunch hot dogs after many years in New Britain on Main street across from the Save A lot plaza Newbrite plaza area,for myself I give this place 4 stars because although I really like the hot dog and special sauce etc.,the dogs seem to be done after only sitting on the grill for a few minutes,I have a hard time chewing the skin,I prefer boiling of the hot dogs,cut down the middle then put the sauce and what items you like in the space between the dogs,I feel the dogs are undercooked,they should up their game a bit,still a traditional shop that has shared the roots of older times New Britain when it was the hardware city of the world,prosperous,Stanley Works,NBmachine,and many other companies that have been gone for many years,grab a dog anyways!!

If you want the best dogs in CT look no further, I have been coming to Capitol Lunch for over 10 years now and every time the dogs have been amazing. Open since the early 1990s this place had a reputation that preceded it in terms of quality, my usual is ketchup and mustard with onion rings but try their secret sauce at least once it's amazing too! That coupled with the fact they now have a credit card machine (the surcharge is there if you use cards which puzzles me) which has been a missing component for years really elevates the place; if they remove the surcharges (its small but it's there) would make this place perfect.

Hot dogs are their thing. Very old fashioned feel. Nice and friendly staff
