River: A Waterfront Restaurant and Bar

My boyfriend and I came here for his birthday. It was amazing. We had the river view outside! Food was so good! I had the pan seared chicken my boyfriend had the porkchop! Our server was Erich N. He was so nice! He was very polite, positive attitude, always had a smile on and our order was served in a timely manner and everything was correct!!!!! Thank you will come again!!!!!

What an great experience. The meal was fresh and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was breathtaking, our server Lindsey was kind and took into account our requests. A truly amazing experience. Thank You.

It was a great experience, we went for their Date Night promotion, I highly recommend that if you're doing that anyway. The food was really good, there's a decent variety. The staff was also very friendly, and the view of the Connecticut River is pretty cool. It took a little bit longer than expected for the entrees to come out but that might have just been because of the Date Night thing (you get multiple courses to share). We'll be going back again for sure.

The River Restaurant is nestled along the banks of the Connecticut River at the base of the Putnam bridge in the Putnam Park complex in Wethersfield. The views are amazing as the photos show.
We were there for a family gathering after a funeral. Mikey, our server was awesome. He was friendly and right on top of taking care of our guests. It was a busy day as the sun was out for the first time in days. So he had his hands full.
Drinks and food were awesome. Everything was freshly prepared to order and arrived hot. The quiet lull at the table indicated that. The portions were more than we expected. Enough leftovers for another meal. The bill was very reasonable for 16 of us with drinks was under 450.00 before gratuity.
There is valet parking available and is validated if you eat at the restaurant. Its definitely worth the trip.

I recently booked River for a baby shower.
All went smoothly from the booking to the day of the actual event.

The guests loved the venue and I heard nothing but great things about the food.
I’m sure many will be back for brunch/dinner.
