Popeyes Wethersfield

This brand new popeyes location is great. Along with years of experience in restaurants from fast food to 4 star on both coasts, I enjoy fried chicken from time to time. In general, I favor Popeyes over all other chains. The fry oil is critical. It must be Fresh & it must be changed OFTEN. This allows the chicken to taste like chicken, not burnt oil. You’d be surprised how many chicken places large & small screw up this critical part of their preparation. It’s a pleasure to dine & deliver from this large, bright, clean store. The employees are particularly special. Fun, sweet kids for the most part, all smiles & helpful. It’s a pet peeve of mine with most fast food places, grumpy employees who seem to be bothered by the very existence of customers. Not here. The food is fresh & perfectly prepared. The new Wethersfield location is a winner.

It's great to see a new Popeyes here in town. There weren't any close by, and we'd generally only eat it when we were on a road trip and passing by.

We stopped in on day two of their grand opening and got 3 meals. I got the regular (not spicy) chicken strips with mashed potatoes as a side. My wife got chicken nuggets and coleslaw, and my son got a spicy chicken sandwich with fries.

The food was good!

We went back a week or so later and got actual fried chicken on the bone, which was a great treat! So many places that sell chicken only offer strips or nuggets, but sometimes I'm craving good, old fashioned fried chicken.

All in all, we'll definitely eat here again and happy to see this new Popeyes here in town.

I don't know how to rate this. I have always classified Popeye's chicken to be the best, hands down. However, up until today (7/31/21) I could regulate my Popeyes Chicken dosage because the restaurants were 10 to 20 miles away. Now, it is only three miles and next door to the supermarket that I frequent. This is good and not good at the same time.....

Opening day seems like a complete success here. This beautiful brand new Popeye's has graced the town of Wethersfield with its presence! It's already on track to be the best Popeye's around, although the Flatbush ave location isn't bad either. Despite the excitement of their grand opening causing a line at the drive through, I still received my food quickly, and my order was hot and accurate! What I enjoyed the most about this Popeyes is that they asked me what sauce I would like with my spicy tenders, instead of me having to tell them last minute at the drive through. Also it was in the bag when they handed it to me, they didn't forget! I will be back! 😊
