Very good food. A bit pricey but the grilled cheese and lobster sandwich is very good..
First time there, the Lobster Grilled Cheese, Brussel Sprouts and Sweet Potato Fries were Excellent!!!
I really liked Shank's. The folks at the counter where you order were really nice and helpful. The food we ordered was mostly very good- fish and chips, fish tacos. One miss was an order of mac and cheese. You could tell that the bottom of the pan had burnt pretty badly and it imparted a really burnt flavor to the dish. It is BYOB, so hit the packy. I was there on a quiet Saturday evening late in the season. It was a beautiful night with a great sunset and not a ton of people. The very relaxed atmosphere may have contributed to the good service we got but regardless it was a really good experience. I will imagine that a Saturday night in mid July would be a very different vibe, but if you are lucky enough to go on a quiet night you are in for a win.
Lobster salad roll was awesome. Nice grilled vegetables and sweet potato fries. Trio of sliders were tasty. Crab cake is New England style not Maryland. Tuna was overcooked for me - when ordering, request rare as they don't ask, cod was beautifully fried. Great location. Friendly staff.
We've been here twice and really enjoyed it both times. First you place your order at the front entrance and they give you a number. Then you find a table either on the deck upstairs or down by the water and they bring your food to you. Our first time we sat upstairs. The second time we found out that they allow dogs in the downstairs by the water so we brought our dog. They have a nice menu and great desserts. I'm looking forward to trying their take on strawberry shortcake with a deep fried Twinkie! Best part is, you can just go for that. And they also serve breakfast. Bring a jacket as the mornings and evenings are chilly. Very kid friendly with a corn hole game downstairs.
