    This was an excellent lunch. Everything was well prepared and tasted great. We were here on a group trip. The wait staff was friendly and fast to clear and bring the food to the tables.

    The oldest and longest running Inn and restaurant in the country!!! The food was absolutely delicious, I highly recommend the steak sandwich, clam chowder and potato cakes. The decor is extremely well kept vintage and we thought it was very cool to eat in the same vibe as someone would have in 1776. Made for an excellent afternoon in Essex.

    Charming restaurant in a beautiful waterside town. It is the oldest Inn still in operation in the USA (since 1776). Beautiful atmosphere, nice food selection, and the staff was friendly to me and my family (4yo and 2yo).

    Essex was charming. We had a mini suite in a building right next to the Inn. Loved it! Staff welcoming. Bar and patio fun. Breakfast was nice. No whole wheat bagels or lactose free milk, but fruit and coffee good. Would recommend.

    I stayed 2 nights at the Griswold, took in the local shops and explored the area. The Hotel staff were fantastic and the Friday Night music was great. Food at the Restaurant was very good. Love the potato pancakes as an appetizer. Would definitely go back to explore more of this area.
