Branford Townhouse Restaurant

The staff and service were excellent and very accommodating. We had 4 adults and 4 young children and they were very welcoming. Food was very good. We were traveling but if we are ever in the area again would head back there.

I love the Townhouse. My “home away from home”, for many years. Food, especially seafood, is ALWAYS fresh, and better prepared than many seafood restaurants. Portions are very large. Don’t miss the pea soup (Thursdays!) or the string beans in sauce (Fridays!) or the steamed carrots! (any day) And, forget the Twin Pines hype. The food simply does not compare.

I eat here usually once or twice a month. Have been a regular for over 20 years, in fact. Service is usually excellent, location is clean, and the food is delicious and in good portions with a sizeable menu. Some of the waitstaff even memorize the usual orders of the regular customers. In short, it's everything one would want or could hope for out of a good, local small town restaurant. There's some competition from two other restaurants (The Parthenon on the other end of town and Twin Pines in East Haven), but usually the regulars from one tend to avoid the other two unless they feel like mixing things up.

Exactly what you would want and expect from a diner! My friend and I went on a Thursday night, and it was pretty quiet. The service was very friendly and attentive. My chocolate chip pancakes were delicious, and the eggs were perfectly cooked! Will definitely return
