    Stopped here on my way back from NY towards MA based on previous good reviews. I gotta say, I wasn't impressed. Ordered over easy eggs with the corned beef hash and it was the canned stuff :( The home fries looked good with a nice crisp on top, but to me, tasted like greasy mashed potatoes. My adult daughter had scrambled eggs and french toast which she enjoyed. It appeared to be standard stuff from the look of it. The prices were decent, but we visit a lot of diners and this one was probably one of my least favorites. (That said, I rarely order something like corned beef hash, so maybe it's a poor thing to use as a comparison!)

    This was our breakfast go-to during a week-long stay in Hamden. The staff very friendly and the food was great. The atmosphere is comfortable and unhurried. Kid friendly!

    The epitome of greasy spoon. Friendly and fast service. Good coffee. Orders as you asked. Hasn't been remodeled in, maybe, ever? Take a time machine to the late 1940's - 50's and visit Brown Stone. Just don't go for dinner. Breakfast and lunch or and only on weekdays.
