3 of us enjoyed a great night and meal at Via Emilia. Excellent wine, very good porterhouse and friendly and professional service. The decoration is very nice. Great lively atmosphere.
beautiful new restaurant on main st in downtown mystic.
A must try if you’re in the area.
Amazing! Lasagna is literally the best I’ve ever had. These guys know what they are doing and understand quality food, wine, and service. I can’t stop thinking about my dinner last night!! Thank you for opening this place!!!!
Clean and warm interior. Concise and consistent Italian menu. Great service
Here's what to expect:
Food-
1) Amazingly made in-house pasta
2) No fried or deep fried food. It's all fresh, grilled, boiled, or elsewise, including the calamari (highly recommended).
3) Some of the best/freshest cheese I've had the pleasure of tasting.
4) Small number of food options is most likely due to chef specialization on the provided dishes.
5) Did not have a bad dish out of 3 appetizers and 3 entrees
Ambience-
1) Modern in appearance - hardwood floors, wooden box check carriers, leather bound drink menus, simple menu setup and categorized dishes
2) Hardwood sound - sound is vibrant and echoes a ways (will probably be quieter once fully decorated). Eases tension if there are no loud groups but makes hearing difficult if there are
3) Crowd mood is excited - patrons appear to be energetic and delighted with food as a whole.
4) Two story setup, dining upstairs and lounge area downstairs.
Staff-
1) The owners and the chef were warm and welcoming, introducing themselves and asking for feedback from the guests.
2) Waiters and waitresses were attentive for the first day on the job. Good service.
Other notes:
This would make for a good date spot for bachelor/bachelorettes. Try the calamari, and for picky eaters, the ravioli is a great option. I loved the Malfadine, and the Prosciutto Di Parma was fresh and enjoyable.
Give it a try if you want some Italian! This is the dream child of the owners of The Mariner from across the street. Support local business if you can!
