A bit pricey for me but the food was decent. I liked the fact that a plate of shrimp crackers were brought out while we ordered lol. Loved the dessert. The owner was friendly and attentive. Nice that there is a takeout option, especially since the parking lot is kinda tight. It's a place I would go to occasionally.
Easily my favorite Thai place in Dover - and the best Dover has had in a while. There have been some dramatic changes since the new ownership took over (about a month ago), and the new owners (a very sweet older couple) clearly put care into the restaurant and the food.
My go-to dish here is the Basil Eggplant, but I have also enjoyed the Drunken Noodle and the green curry -- all excellent, and why?
1) The food is not too greasy. When I order the basil eggplant - it's not swimming in a pool of oil that you so often find in stir fried asian dishes. Grease is a shortcut to cooking, and they don't take that shortcut. As a plus -- I don't finish the meal feeling heavy -- I feel refreshed!
2) Use of veggies. The meat is not the main portion of the dish, but is balanced with all the delicious veggies and flavors. Plus, they use more than just bell peppers and onions, but include other types of veggies more typical of Thai cooking. Yum.
3) Thai cooking is super easy -- if you use the sauce/curry from "the jar". This is why many Thai foods taste so similar across restaurants. While they may also use "the jar" they enhance the flavor with other ingredients/spices giving their dishes a more unique flavor and presentation.
Don't be put off by the house -- definitely worth checking this place out, and helping it to survive in Dover!!
Nice place. Good prices. Authentic Thai Taste. Nice people
Love the food! I recommend the pad see ew or curry with rice. It was fast and delicious!
I wanted to leave two stars, but I don't want to be too harsh on the place. My understanding is that it is fairly new there, so it maybe they're still trying to find their footing. We had chicken satay to start with, and then pork Pad Thai along with massaman curry which was supposed to be shrimp but they brought chicken instead.
The chicken satay flavor wasn't that great. It does normally come with three pieces but we had two before I took the picture. The sauce was tasty, however.
The pad thai was very unexciting. Normally that would be one of my favorite dishes, but the flavor was a little bit off and lacking. I did not finish it and had no urge to bring it home.
The owner seems nice, but his English is not very good. That may have contributed to issues with the drinks and the curry.
I don't think I want to go back. We may try it again in the future to see if they've ironed out issues.
