Morelia Mexican Restaurant & Bar

Good: The food is always really tasty. The prices are fair and the portions are good. The atmosphere is intimate and usually pretty quiet when I’m there. The wait staff are friendly and I’m always seated and approached for drink order relatively quickly.

Not great: Food usually comes
Out quickly but it takes forever for the server to come back. I’m usually sitting there a good half an hour without being checked on and bY that time, I just need a box for left overs and the check.

Now, I realize this may be due to the fact that I am almost always there by myself for a little night out. However, customers should be given the same attention whether it’s a large group or just one person, in my opinion.

This might seem dumb but the florescent lamps right above the table are a little off putting. A warmer light would really feel better.

Food was delicious!! Staff is friendly. Reasonably priced.

Service was great. During the course of our visit, we had three different people visit the table. All were very friendly and courteous.
Had an order of chicken nachos and they were amazing! I also had an order of chicken enchiladas and they were great, could of used a little more sauce, but otherwise were excellent. The reason for only four stars, we all had a steak soft tacos, and they weren't that great. The shells were sort of mushy corn soft shells, not flour. Only bad thing . All the lettuce, tomatoes , salsa and sour cream were very fresh.
The atmosphere is also nice and very pleasant to be in.

I’ve been here a few times and every time it’s been amazing! The service is great, the food tastes awesome and the price is so so reasonable. Bathrooms are very clean too! It was a wonderful surprise! It’s my favorite Mexican restaurant in Newark!

On the strength of these reviews we had a late lunch at Morelia on Tuesday, October 9.
I can say without hesitation that the food is excellent and the service is also very good. Our server, Vanessa, took great care of us as did everyone we came in contact with.
This is by far the best Mexican food I ever had. The $2 beers and tacos on Tuesdays cannot be beat. You get plenty of great food and really great cold beer. It's a win win for everybody!

Can't wait to return again soon!
