Cafetal De Newark

We finally have authentic Latin food in the Newark area. We visited Cafetal last night and are already thinking about our next visit. The place has seating for about 40 people. We were pleasantly greeted at the door and promptly seated. The service was excellent from beginning to end. It was hard to decide what to get because the menu had so many excellent choices and many of the foods from home that I have been craving. We ordered the chicken mofongo and ropa vieja and both were delicious! The foods were seasoned well and the flavors were authentic. The portions were generous and the prices reasonable. We had the nutella flan for dessert and it puts my homemade flan to shame. I need to get a hold of that recipe! One last note, if you order the mofongo please be patient. It takes time to make it if you want it done right, but it will be worth the wait.

Visited for the first time tonight and wow! The food was amazing! I had the pork mofongo and it was delicious! My 1 year old loved everything too. We will definitely be back!
