Helen's Sausage House

OMG, best sausage sandwiches in the state of Delaware, hand's down. It's a little bit of a ride from where I live but it's definitely worth it at least once a month. The ladies at the counter are the best. Always fast to fill your order and very polite and professional.

Good food, terrible hours.

Helen's is well known for having great sausages. I love to get a single with egg, cheese, fried onions, and sausage gravy.

The only downsides are:
1) Cash only: i rarely have cash on me. They do have an ATM, but there is a $2.50 fee to use it.
2) Hours: they close before noon. They actually close once they sell out of food.

I usually don't have time to stop in the morning. They used to close at 2pm, which was fine for me, because i could stop for lunch.

So, if you want one of these fantastic sandwiches, be sure to bring cash and arrive early.

If you're in the area and don't stop here you need to re-evaluate your life. Closed Sundays, so buy double on Saturday. Expect a line on the weekends, but it usually moves fast. Get there early, when they run out they run out. Parking isn't the best, but whatcha gonna do. I'd park a mile away for a single with egg and cheese.

This is our first visit today. Food is amazing and the service was excellent. This is a hidden gem. Sorry I do not have a picture. We just dove in and started eating! Awesome place!

The wait time.... Oh my God. Do not go here on a Saturday after 0730 AM. But was it worth it... HELL. YES. Delicious food and decent prices to boot. This is that "Hole in the Wall" "Diamond in The Rough" place that you didn't know you needed in your life. Parking sucks being right off of 13, but you can figure it out! Definitely coming back, in the summer, me and my buddies ride up on motorcycles every Saturday !
