El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant

This is one of my favorite Mexican places in the area. The food is always delicious from the quesadillas to the fajitas to the tacos. You also always start with some fresh spicy salsa and chips at the table while you wait for your food to come. The desserts here are also delicious and I love the Xangos.

Is El Tapitio Spanish for food of the gods? I've had my fair share of authentic Mexican (or Texmex and no Taco Bell does NOT count) and this place is BY FAR the best in it's league.
I have lived from east coast to the west and never have I found Mexican cuisine so expertly prepared. The care put into every bite was exquisite. From one meal, you have a forever customer as long as you don't change a thing . Thank you so much for the wonderful meal and I will happily recommend you to all my friends.

Nice quiet restaurant. Large servings. You have to tell them to hold off on cheese because there's cheese on almost all the meals.... even though cheese is not listed on the menu.

The decor is great. The food is average. There are better options around. It's an okay spot to hit if you dont want to go out of your way for a quick meal.

Sat at the bar and asked for a "Skinny" Spicy Margarita. Even though it wasn't on the menu, the bartender made it just the way I like it with fresh jalapenos, and very little sour mix. Guacamole is always fresh and servers are friendly. Great place to go with a date :) or even with a group of friends. I definitely recommend if your looking for good food and drinks in the Wilmington/Claymont area.
