We discovered this restaurant gem about six months ago and have returned many times. The food is varied and excellent. The service is usually friendly and efficient. On Saturday, February 2 we arrived at approximately 5:40 and noticed the dining room was very busy. . A young male waiter, who has served us in the past apologized for the confusion about which member of the wait staff was assigned to our table. After about 10 minutes the hostess gave us water and assured us our waitress would be over shortly. When our waitress finally came to our table she did not speak to us except to ask what we wanted. She did not go over the specials or even smile. We ordered an appetizer and drinks. She disappeared, but could be seen occasionally chatting with other tables. Again, a long wait. She did not return to ask if we wanted anything else until the appetizer arrived. We ordered entrees and she was gone again. When the entrees came, she did not smile, or ask if we would like anything else. She put them on the table and was gone again. We finished our meal and waited for her to return. After a long wait, the young waiter cleared our table and apologized again. We again waited to be asked if we wanted anything else but decided to get our bill whenever she returned. After another wait she put the bill on the table and disappeared. We had the bill on the table with a debit card inside, and waited half an hour for her to process it. She NEVER returned. We finally took the bill to the hostess, who was cleaning tables and asked her to take care of it so we could leave. The time was now 7:40. Two hours for a dinner and most of the time we were waiting. As we were leaving we noticed our waitress was chatting at a table in the porch area. When we were leaving the parking lot she was still chatting at that table. If this had been our first visit to this establishment we would not return. Fortunately, we enjoyed many previous visits. When we return again, if we are assigned to this waitress we will request other staff.
