My husband and I have been dining at the Back Porch for 30 years. It always has a unique menu and the bartender makes excellent Martinis. This restaurant could hold its own almost anywhere (maybe not Paris). We never have the same meal as we visit twice a week because it is so enjoyable to explore the menu. Yes, it is difficult to find. Yes, it is expensive. But it is so charming and the food so good, one never feels overcharged.

Great space. Great atmosphere. Great service. Great all around. Front door just a bit challenging to locate....kinda concealed amid the busy beach avenue. Once you find it, you will see how great it is.

Back Porch Cafe - Excellent service and a great dinner all around. Really good food, nice selection of wines and attentive service and fun. Their cocktail menu is quite limited, though. Just ask for something else that is not on their list and they'll do a fine enough job. I'll be back.

The place is small (intimate) but nicely decorated. The host had zero personality and our waiter was a little standoffish at first but loosened up. The menu is on the small side but fairly broad offerings. Drinks were good, not great. Food was okay which isn't good because this is an expensive place. We shared an appetizer (crab ravioli) which I felt was a little dull. My dinner (beef tenderloin) was tasty but undercooked and a little tough. The rest of the entree was good but could have used some color on the plate. My wife had the crab/shrimp cake which was dry and appeared to have more breading than it should have. Overall it was a decent meal but nowhere worth the $120 bill. I would not recommend this place. There are far better meals to be had in the area for far less.
