I drove right pass this restaurant the first time I drove down the street looking for it. Upon getting out of my car, I could smell the spices in the chicken. The taste of the food exceeded the smell if that can be. Everything was really fresh.
Just landed in BWI and was craving a real meal. Huacatay was clean, the cashier was super helpful and kind, and the food was absolutely delicious!! The pink sauce isn't spicy at all, btw. The chicken was most, and they give you such a generous portion. Try it!
The chicken is average, nothing special. The fried rice had no flavor, not even salt. The beans and rice were good. The best thing was the yuca. The sauces are just ok. The pink one is the best, it has a little spice to it. Customer service could improve, asked about something on the menu and the lady at the front seemed annoyed or just not having a good day.
Great chicken! Fried rice was pretty good but lacked something to me... Maybe salt although I rarely salt and pepper anything preferring to taste how the establishment chooses to present. Yucca fries - you either love them or are neutral. I'm neutral. Their sauces were amazing. Don't be fooled by the hot. It is a mild. The sauces aren't there for heat but to add complexity to the flavors and they do in such an amazing way.
