The food was delicious. My only concern and the reason why I wont give 5 is they ran out of food like fried chicken. There were several items not available.

Loved how friendly the staff is! And how accommodating as well. I asked for wet naps to wipe my hands while I was eating the ribs and although they do not provide those, the server offer to wet some napkins and bring them to me. I don't recall our server's name but I know it started with a j--Jalani, I think? She was attentive but not overbearing. food over all was good but the macaroni and cheese was a tad salty and in the future - - because I will definitely be coming back--I would not order the very sweet candied yams and the baby back ribs with it sweet sauce. Separately they would be great. In fact the candied yams was more like a desert. Oh and the cinnamon corn muffins are delicious! And the fact that is black owned is an extra bonus!

Tasty soul food restaurant for dine in or take out near RI Ave metro station in NE DC! Carolina Kitchen is a great casual dining experience for the community!

However, be aware, street parking nearest to the restaurant is metered and folks seem challenged by the parking space markings. Also. The pay stations do not take bills. Coins and credit cards (not park mobile) and you have to take your paid receipt to display on your dash, Mondays thru Saturdays!

As usual, excellent service and experience at Carolina Kitchen. First time at this location, but equally as good (and funnier) than the Hyattsville location.

All of the food I ordered came out hot and fresh. Fried okra, and the creole salmon dish.

Server Charles was attentive and friendly, and didn’t check in too often throughout my stay. But enough to make me feel welcomed and important.

Drink was very good too. Definitely not watered down nor too stiff. Caribbean Kiss.

Highly recommend if you’re looking for Southern style cuisine.

Outstanding soul food, but the service was not very good. At three in the afternoon the carry out took forty minutes. But it's great food. Ribs, black eyed peas, collard greens and corn bread are a great combo!
