I love love love this place! I mostly come here for coffee and dessert in the afternoons but also had food here for dinner, which was quite superb and decently priced. Most of all I like their friendly atmosphere and cleanliness. As the big space in the middle with the couches is literally a hotel lobby they allow dogs while having coffee, which makes them one of two places in DC that do that....come on, DC, you can do better!
Each piece of the puzzle was great, but the real stand out was the setting. Located within the LINE Hotel which sits within a re-imagined historic church building, Brothers and Sisters shares the great hall of this architectural masterpiece with two other restaurants, two bars and the hotel lobby. It is beautiful and full of life.
The service was friendly and competent. We ordered a bottle of French rose, which really hit the spot with dinner. The duck consomme was spicy, delicious and just what a cold winter night calls for. The brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly and accessorized with caramelized and fried onions which and a sauce which took them to another level. The burger was quite good but the fries were a masterpiece. Finally, they provided us a piece of amazing Earl Grey cake on the house which was a very pleasant surprise. We highly recommend.
Both times I’ve dined at Brothers and Sisters have been delightful. The food is affordable and wellcrafted. The first time I went for my sister’s birthday and they treated us like absolute royalty. The second time, the manager came over to the table, addressed us by name, and shook our hand. The dining area is beautiful - perfect spot for a lovely, posh, low-key brunch!
Decent food and great service. Won’t go out of my way to come here but this is a good option for anyone staying at the Line Hotel.
The waiters and servers did a great job and were patient and pleasant and very helpful as we had young kids at our table.
