Lois is amazing, and her kind personality is poured into her dishes. We are always greeted with a smile and warm welcome. We love to have her coconut curry chickpeas, chickpea burger and lentil soup. After trying those dishes we just couldn’t get away from them!
Sweet Sosumba has a soothing aroma as soon as you walk through the doors. It’s a refreshing feeling we get when visiting and our appetites are always satisfied.

Been looking for a place like this for awhile. The owner is the sweetest and the food is delicious. I had never even had Jamacian food prior to being vegan and it was an amazing introduction. The first time I went was with a non-vegan Jamacian just to help me order, and they were just as impressed with the quality and authenticity as I was!

As a long time vegan and lover (and maker) of Caribbean food I was super excited to try this place. If you are thinking that the food will taste like traditional soul touching jamaican food that just happens to be vegan... wrong! This is some gentrified version of jamaican food...they should say "inspired," or "influenced." For what it was the food was pretty and good, as in "wholesome and filling," it just wasn't what I went there to get. The food just wasn't flavorful and even the sorrel was watered down. I will try it again but probably opt for the smoothies and such rather than a meal. Oh, the lady was really nice that worked there but she could definitely use some support. As more folks walked in she's trying to balance the register, making the food, taking online/phone orders, and keeping tables clean. That's too much for one person, the wait time would be much less if she had some help.

I'm so happy to have more plant based restaurants in DC! The food was delicious (I had the coconut curry chickpeas and jerk chicken), and the pineapple ginger juice was so great!

Excellent food, extremely clean interiors, great vibe and aesthetic. Super friendly staff and everything was made from scratch. Places like these need your support and business – this is a worthy visit even if it is out of your way.

The boss lady is extremely environmentally conscientious, too. We asked for a “zero disposables” meal, which she was more than kind enough to offer. Even the way she offered us sauces... added them on a saucer instead of disposable plastic bowls.

Please dine here and request for durables. #DoGoodBeGood
