Tail Up Goat is the best thing that could have happened to Adams Morgan since Lapis opened up there around the corner some years ago.... now, if you want to dine out for under $30 per person that is definitely not the place to be, but then you also shouldn't dine out in DC at all, in my opinion.
The food is superb and the wine a great selection of truly interesting and intriguing varieties and countries of origin. The waiters really know their business and are very attentive. The portion - and here I disagree with some previous comments - are HUGE. If you share 2 starters you will be bursting full if you have a main dish on your own, no room for dessert.
Keep up the good work!
A true dining experience. Impeccable service without being obtrusive. Delicious food with great attention to detail. We spent four hours enjoying a variety of the vegetarian items on the menu, without any feeling of being rushed to leave. Best to make reservations in advance.
The food is creative but hardy, delicious, and always appropriate for the season. They also have a drink list that is off the charts with orange wines, ciders, great beers, and anything else you might want. Perfect lighting and atmosphere. And a really great staff. All around awesome. I see why it's always packed
Great food, comfortable atmosphere, and interesting menu (evidently rotates regularly) for someone not used to leaving their comfort zone. Service was also very prompt. This is a place I would only recommend to those of high means or looking to really splurge on a special meal. Your bill is likely to be over $100+ by the end. They only fall below five stars due to the portion sizes being smaller than expected. When they say get two plates of things such as pasta, listen to them.
Lived up to the hype! All the pasta dishes were fantastic. Their pork chop was tender and tasty. Great wine and cocktail selection plus the ambiance was first class. Highly recommend if you're willing to splurge!
