Chen's Gourmet

UPDATE: since it's super convenient for me, I tried it again despite my earlier bad experience. I got the recommended-by-other-reviewers General Tso's, along with wonton soup and BBQ spare ribs. The chicken was tasty and tender, the ribs not very glazed but decent quality meat, but the soup had limp noodles and was rather tasteless. Big picture, though, a big improvement over my initial impression. Still expensive though.

Original review: Poor quality - greasy, tasteless - and pricey to boot

Ordering at Chen's for the first time I was expecting mediocre Chinese food, boy was I ever wrong. I ordered two General Tao's chicken plates, one extra spicy for myself the other regular for my girlfriend. The chicken was a great quality and came with a generous helping of broccoli. I consider myself a big eater, but it was all I could do to finish my plate. My girlfriend made hers into two meals. The extra spicy had heat on part with Thai or Indian hot. It was the best Chinese food I've had not only in DC but in the US. The chicken was crispy and not soggy, and the broccoli was steamed to perfection. On top of that they give us a few $10 off coupons. This is my new go to place for Chinese. Highly recommend!
