A very nice experience during the happy hour. The decor and service is excellent.
Deviled eggs : A very tasty cold dish with egg white with crab on top. Well worth the price.
Po Sandwich: Tasty sandwich with oyster and beef filling. The beef was very tasty and oysters felt fresh. Only drawback was that there was too much mayo/dressing inside which destroyed some of the natural meat flavor. The bread was also really crispy.
Cocktail: The one I tried was ok.
Overall, One of the best food I have had for a happy hour.
What a treat! We had a most wonderful meal and experience at Dauphine's! Service was exceptional as was the food. The Oyster spaghetti was absolutely delicious. The oysters melted in my mouth. The bread was worth the cost as well. We had it as an app. Would go again if we lived in the area. Another note...it was a relaxing place to dine as many of the places we have been in DC are very loud .
We had a great server and wine expert take care of us for the evening. Both were very knowledgeable in the chef’s imaginative concepts and approach to what’s on the menu.
The food was fantastic. Rich, but fantastic.
The atmosphere is wonderful — it complements the dining experience.
I took off one star because the people at the host stand didn’t quite hit the mark on hospitality.
When we arrived, the place wasn’t busy at all; plenty of tables to choose from. Yet they sat us at the upper level, all the way in the back, where there was no view and no one around us. It looked like the place was empty even though it actually already had an active scene.
They eventually moved us to a nicer table, but only when pressed to do so. For a place where the ambiance adds to the entire experience, the front staff should’ve taken that into consideration in their seating logistics.
We hope to return and receive service that matches the cuisine and atmosphere.
Went here on a whim with friends. Food was yummy and so pleased to learn a woman head chef. Our server/bartender Nathaniel was so lovely and a pleasure to chat with (not to mention made some bomb drinks). Looking forward to going back soon. The atmosphere and food added to the lovely folks who work here. One of the best experiences I’ve had at a place in DC in a long time.
