This is one of DCs finest restaurants, if you can afford it, and not many can. We tried the 7 course tasting menu and it was spectacular. Each bite exquisitely crafted, perfectly prepared, plated like fine art. The butter poached lobster and the venison chop were to die for. Service was excellent, Vinny our server was very professional, but also fun, explained each of our courses perfectly. Again, if you can afford it, you really should try it.
Food was very good, but do not waste your money on the wine pairing. The champagne to start was excellent (Dom Pérignon), but after that it was cheap wine after cheap wine. A quick google search revealed each glass poured came from a bottle between 17 and 25 dollars. Completely disappointing—especially for 160/person.
Everyone we encountered here was so professional and solicitous. I was quite pregnant at the time we ate here, and they made sure I had the most comfortable seat and even offered me a little pillow for my back. They were eager to help and very capable - making sure nothing was in the dishes that pregnant women shouldn't eat. The food was, of course, fantastic. We had a great last pre-baby night out.
Simply outstanding. The food was incredibly good and the service was exceptional. Our server pointed us in the right direction given dietary restrictions and made our night memorable. I'm grateful to have had this experience.
