The ambiance and music was perfect! The food was absolutely amazing!! We ordered so much food just to try several dishes. Definitely coming back to this restaurant.
Moi Moi is a must try! The service was great from the moment we walked through the door and we were seated right away. The short rib was very tender and the greens underneath were seasoned to perfection.
I will definitely be back to try their happy hour!
To start of the hostess was great, and very accommodating. We enjoyed the appetizer of pepper soup and moi moi. The main dishes left more to be desired. The the cowboy steak and fried mashed potatoes was very good, the Alabama porgy was not impressive and a little bland, the side of bean and cassava served with it was salty. My order of Jollof was over salted and had to be replaced, the replacement was a little better. Our server was not very attentive, and the restaurant wasn't busy. The sweet bread dessert was absolutely delicious. The restroom was not very clean and could use a thorough cleaning. Overall for what we payed the experience could have been better. We will be back to try new things, but hopefully that experience is better.
The food was amazing!!! For appetizers, the pepper soup and the jerk chicken were delicious. As for the entrees, the steak and the lamp chops were out of this world. I can honestly say that the filet was as good as, if not better than any DC steak house. The restaurant was upbeat, and you could tell the staff was happy to be there. While the classification of the restaurant is "African", and it has some amazing traditional fare, I would say most of the dishes could be served in any "American" restaurant.
I had a great time with friends, good music, nice atmosphere. I thought it was a Nigerian place and was expecting mostly Nigerian food but there’s a wide African variety. Decided to try a Gambian dish with a friend, which didn’t do it for us, manager was happy to switch it out for us at no extra cost. The waitress was pleasant and service was pretty decent.
