“This may be one of the most popular breakfast spots in DC- it’s one of the busiest at least! The staff is friendly and professional, and food is made to order! Highly recommend!”

“This quaint coffee and wine house is the kind of place you might initially stop by out of curiosity. Yet, it is the amazing staff, wonderfully roasted coffee, and unexpected atmosphere that will keep you coming back. I'm personally a fan of their iced coffee and decaf lattes but there is far more to explore here!”

“Food was good, coffee hot, staff could use customer service training. They didnt smile, barely made eye contact or extend themselves in anyway more than neccessary. Management needs to set an example and be present to make sure tables are wiped and that customers are not harassed for money as they eat by vagrants panhandling and wandering in and out of the station”

“This is one of the first places I visited when I moved to DC from Oakland/Berkeley, and it made me feel so at home. From the cozy bohemian decor, the hanging lamps and the ever-welcoming greeting, "how can we heal you today?" I'm a lifelong fan. It's one of the first places I recommend to my friends and family when they visit. A perfect place to chill after a long day of touring or if you want a home away from home with friendly strangers. And I always get a warm welcome from Sunyatta, Ali, and the rest of her team. The best vegan BLT I've ever had and the most decadent vegan cookie . Calabash4ever”

“Product quality is very good, customer service is very good, and general vibe is good. Favoite item, Glazed Blueberry Munchkins Donut Hole Treats; favorite time to visit, between 2 and 4 P.M. (everyone is more relaxed and food is being prepared for the evening). Parking is available for a few cars on site or if you do not mind walking a block or two from a side street parking spot.”

“Love this spot. As a cafe, it's got a full selection of coffee and other drinks. There are good pastries and a surprisingly great food menu given how small the kitchen area is. It can be a little tight inside during the winter when the usable space is basically cut in half with no one using the patio, making it a slightly less appealing place to use for work. But it never gets too loud, so if you can find a spot to sit just make sure you have some good headphones. During the warmer months, the patio is surrounded by ivy and is well-shaded. Really beautiful spot to sit.”

“The food and drinks were great. I think this place has a very fun vibe as well. The only reason I am docking a star is that our waitress waited so long to come get our drink order that the manager needed to come by and get it. When she did stop by and found out we already ordered our coffee she left without taking our food order. We waited an extremely long time for ordering everything and our bill got very messed up. I'm chalking this up as a rare occurrence and would still definitely recommend based on the food offerings alone.”

“The only negative is that the food is over-priced ($10-12 for just a sandwich), as with all the Smithsonian cafeterias. However, seeing that we enjoy the museums for free, I guess it's a fair trade-off. Other than that, it's probably my favorite place around the National Mall to enjoy lunch when the weather is nice. They give you a buzzer when you order your food, so you don't have to wait awkwardly by the counter for your meal. And the large outdoor fountain is a nice place to relax (and dip your feet into). The entire pavilion is surrounded by trees and shrubbery, so it feels like you're dining at a casual garden party. I always eat outside for this reason. They could add some more outdoor lunch tables, I think. However, if you can't get a table inside or outside, there are quite a few patio chairs with side tables lining the front of the cafe, and there's also seating by the fountain (but with no tables to use). Might not be ideal for families, but people make it work. As for the food, I like the roast beef sandwich, but the jerk chicken sandwich could use more flavor...or just flavor.”

“I've read a number of other reviews and I can't believe we are talking about the same place. I have been a patron of this place for 3 years (before the name change and after). The food is fresh, the staff has only ever been friendly, and the service pretty fantastic. Prices are comparable for the area (including the food trucks). Both breakfast and lunch are good. They recently remodeled to improve the traffic flow. I really don't know what else to say, this place is great!”

“Great food and options in terms of salads and other snacks. Enjoyable atmosphere and always polite staff. Lines can be long and the grill is usually shut off around an hour before they close, so plan ahead if you want to enjoy one of the hot sandwiches.”

“We ate every breakfast here and one lunch and every meal was fantastic. The quality and variety of the buffet is really impressive. Their prices are amazingly low considering the quality of the food. Between our family we had mixture of eggs, omelets, pancakes, oatmeal, fried plantains, potatoes, and more for breakfast and all were delicious. At lunch the chicken and fish were terrific as well as the fresh salad bar.”

“Came in at 7am. The young lady didn’t look happy to be at work. I purchased an iced coffee with splashes of hazelnut and vanilla w a hash brown. She had to get change and ice. I waited patiently. I received my things and as I tasted the ice coffee it wasn’t sweet enough. I stood back in line. Another customer came up and she overlooked me for some reason and asked him could she help him. Not sure why... But I asked for more flavor to sweeten the coffee more and she seem to have had an attitude and said it was a charge for it. Paying wasn’t an issue. She took my cup and released a big sigh and an irritated facial expression. The flavors weren’t too far from her to get too but she did it with lots of attitude. Not sure what I did to her but she was mean and irritated for no reason. Maybe she should get more sleep or something.”
