East End Eatery

I love this place so much! Service is consistently excellent, the space is thoughtfully decorated, and the food is fresh, creative, and delicious. Today I got the watermelon and strawberry salad with tempeh and really enjoyed it.

Food was just ok (had the French toast and blueberry waffle, the waffle was better than the French toast) but the kids menu pasta was terrible. Tasted like it had been doused in vinegar but the server said it was just olive oil and Parmesan. So it was either very low quality olive oil or it was rancid.
Got three stars because the staff was very kind and attentive.

Nice to see restaurants on the east side of Gainesville but for a basic breakfast- 2 eggs, bacon, toast coffee...it is a bit pricey. Coffee was good which is rare in typical breakfast joint. Prefer the 43rd St deli where you get all that plus fresh fruit and it costs less.

On the way to Savannah, GA we chose to eat here after reading the reviews. I can see what the hype is about. Super cute spot, so southern, so welcoming. The food was delicious and you can taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. The portions are normal and not overwhelming, even their butter is delicious. It's definitely worth the extra few miles drive. A little side note, I spilled cream all over the table and our server was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Thank you for the great food and hospitality. Cash only place!!

My husband and I have been twice. It gets busy quick so prepare to wait a bit, especially on Sundays. Be aware that they are cash only. The food both times has been absolutely wonderful. We had an issue with our waffles this last time but the owner fixed it. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is wonderful. We will definitely be making weekly visits! Highly recommend!
