Truly a wonderful experience!! Joy and Baylem greeted us at the door and provided superior service throughout the night! We started with a large assortment of sushi rolls. Honorable mentions included the Triple Sexy, Long Island, and Spicy Tuna. Each was very fresh, presented beautifully, and full of flavor! We then had the volcano fried rice and signature black fried rice for the table. Both were excellent. We will be back!!
We've only eaten there twice. But call me a fan. We have eaten at every sushi restaurant this side of Gainesville and they are hands down overall best in show. Describing the food or take pictures won't do it justice. Go. Randomly order from the menu. Taste it. You'll be glad you did.
Dine in experience much better than takeout here. Maybe they had a bad day when we got takeout, but the sushi just tasted off. When we came to dine in, we found that service was friendly and the place had a good vibe. The food leans much more into fusion than traditional Japanese food. Recommend getting sushi rolls and their black fried rice. Drinks are good too. Food came out a little slow, but we didn't mind much. Prices are reasonable for Gainesville.
Very nice. Great food. Trendy atmosphere. Just seat guests right away, don't make them wait, stop what you're doing and greet and seat the guests. It's important. We're coming here to spend money, make us feel like big shots by attending to us right away.
The owners evidently disagreed on the decor. The outside styling cues indicate budget friendly and casual. The interior gleams modern, chic, and upscale. Maybe they ran out of budget after decorating the interior.
The food prices are on the high side. This is not so much a problem if the food, ambience and service work. So far, excepting the exterior, they do.
Compared to Volcanic, this place took a precise but clean approach to their kitchen dish. Volcanic is a bit stylized in comparison, like it's showing off a bit.
