Darrell's Dog Gone Good Diner

Used to stop at Darryl’s in Ocala whenever driving south from Gainesville. Now, love that they’re local. Their breakfast sandwich is great and their cakes are awesome! Would happily paid extra for real maple syrup like at First Watch in south Florida.

Good dinner food fast from fairly large menu.
Had country fried steak, tenderer than most. Hash browns not overdone and thick rye bread. Like the dog puzzles on the walls, hokey, but funny.
Gotta admire the courage to open in the covid restaurant hurricane.

Darrell's Dog Gone Good Dinner is dog good food. Just had my first experience and it was very good. With so many choices for breakfast here in southwest Gainesville don't miss this one.
Intuitively you don't think egg's and pulled pork go well together but try the Whole Hog Scramble it's Paw recommended and delicious. I will be back soon this place is worth trying out

Darrell's Diner has only been open 2 weeks and I have already been in to eat here twice. I like breakfast anytime, so decided to check this out when I saw the Open for business sign finally show up. Clean and spacious they follow CDC guidelines. Service was prompt and wait staff pleasant. I like that the kitchen is open to view from the dining area and did not create alot of noise. Bathrooms were clean and stocked. The coffee was good and they had real cream and honey to use to make it the way I do at home. I ordered the two egg and bacon breakfast both times. It came promptly at the correct temperature and was delicious. I really like that I can get one pancake instead of hash browns without an upcharge since I am allergic to potatoes. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the butter is not real butter but a butter spread or blend, so I didn't use it and there is no option for real maple syrup, only pancake syrup. I would love to have real maple syrup on the pancake, even if it had an upcharge. Great place, good prices, and I'm sure as word gets out they will be busier, so hope they keep up the good work they are already doing. I will definitely be back again.
