Old San Juan Bakery Express

You absolutely must try this incredible Puerto Rican counter-style restaurant that is without a doubt the best food option in the Oaks Mall. Everything is homemade, delicious, and genuinely authentic. The owner is extremely friendly and so happy to be sharing her family's amazing recipes. This visit I had the wonderful roast pork, pigeon peas and rice, yucca with mojo and a meat filled yucca fritter with their special house sauce. I have now found my new favorite Gainesville Caribbean restaurant!

Every time I crave mofongo, I could never find a place in Gainesville when I googled it. FINALLY, one day on Facebook, I came across Old San Juan Latin Bakery. I ordered the seafood mofongo and two empanadas. They make their mofongo to order-quality. I am very pleased and will ordered again!

Awesome food! I treated myself with delicious mofongo and beefsteak; alcapurrías and beef turnovers.. They were so delicious, I went back the next day for the same food.

The food here is so DELICIOUS!!! Exceeds all expectations for a mall food court restaurant. Probably the best Puerto Rican food I’ve ever had outside of my mother n laws kitchen. You have to try the Mofongo!!!
