Dat Cajun Place Cafe

2021 update, restaurant moved. Building is nice and new. Food was still good, had to wait an hour to be seated, party of 8. I got a bowl of gumbo which was good and a sandwich. Only complaint was the waiter failed to out in one of the children's chicken tender basket which came out after everyone was done eating. Keeping it a 4 star.

Food was good but they were out of the special which was disappointing. We had a table of 12 and our server did a great job of waiting on us. I would recommend this place for you're next trip to PCB.

Very cool place! Eric, our server, was excellent! Very knowledgeable, had great suggestions., attentive, just overall great service!
They have a very unique menu, we tried several items, they were all delicious! Worth a try for sure! I would definitely go back again!

Great place that was recommended a few yrs ago by a local and then again this yr by a traveler. Great food w good portions. Friendly staff who works their tails off going and going. Price was fair for the local. They where busy but waitress never let us go without. Had a live band that was pleasant and enjoyable. Definitely will return..

Update: the awesome restaurant has a new location. And yes the food is still the best in the beach area. I have made it a spot to visit whenever I'm n the PCB area. The food is wonderful the service is great and the staff is friendly. Have been impressed for each of the 4 yrs I've ate at this restaurant and the new bigger location is even better than before.. This place absolutely lives up to the hype and a place where the wait times are worth it. We went with 9 people and used the "Join Waitlist" feature in the Yelp app, which saved us some time. They had axe throwing in the parking lot for $10 a person through a 3rd party, which was fun. You can get drinks while you wait. If the weather is lousy, though, you may end up waiting in your car as there isn't much room inside to wait (given the crowds) and not much cover.

The food was excellent and had all of the usual suspects for Cajun seafood plus some unique items as well. Everyone in our group loved their meals and we got excellent service. Given that the entire country has a labor shortage for restaurant kitchens, I thought these guys did an outstanding job of getting the food out. The live music was fun and lively. The only real question was whether we would hear more Auburn or Alabama fans yelling during "Sweet Home Alabama," for those of you who know. It was split about 50/50 and I'm happy to report that no fights broke out. 🙂

Phenomenal place to eat. The new location is open and very nice. Tons of TVs covering the walls. Great live music. And of course the food is amazing. Expect a wait, but it is worth it. Prices are amazing for a beach restaurant. Definitely not a tourist trap. Great food, great atmosphere (loud when there is live music), great prices, great drink/draft selection.
