I have been living in PSJ for almost 25 years and this was my first of what I hope to be very many more visits...
From the outside this was really nothing much to look at and it was marginally better on the inside. But as they say, don't judge a book by its cover, or a diner for that matter. We were greeted upon stepping in and then were sat down promptly. Drinks? Why yes. And soon they were on the table. The waitress was very personable and patient as we ordered and the place was still quite busy for a late Thursday evening.
My wife had their cheeseburger, made to order, big and thick. I had their "lite fare" pork chops, grilled. From the first bite, my wife loved her burger and I was pleasantly surprised with the chop. Though it was a little thinner than I prefer, it was still very good with the accompanying pickled beets. We each started our meal with salads - both with fresh, cold, and crispy - definitely well prepared.
For dessert we had their Italian Cream Cake - what must be the best kept secret in PSJ. This cake was big and thick, without being heavy, and it was heavenly delicious. I am seriously considering ordering one when the holiday's come this year - I most certainly will.
Great little Mom & Pop place with a friendly atmosphere, attentive staff, and solid home cooking. I will most certainly be bringing friends along the next time I have visitors from outta town...
Good food, good selection and received pretty quick. Thought a little pricey but would eat there again if in the area.
We eat here often and for the most part its good. 2 weeks ago we went for soup but they were out. We ordered a scrambler which is normally enough for us to share. It came out and was 1/3 of what it normally was. When we asked why they said "oh we ran out of potatoes."
OK well offer something else. I told the hostess when she asked how it was and she laughed it off and rang us up. We PaID full price for 1/3 of the meal. Left hungry and went to subway. Waste of my money.
A wonderful hole in the wall type diner with a variety of menu items to appeal to any appetite with choices such as delicious burgers, fried fish, homemade pancakes, french toast and from scratch biscuits and cornbread. Very friendly staff that is always on the ball with their services and always an inviting atmosphere. Breakfast lunch and dinner served all day with a host of different options to mix and match.
Friendly diner that was still busy with breakfast ???? @10 am on a midweek day. Food was tasty.
The biscuits were flaky and hot, the gravy creamy smooth with just the right amount of what tasted like fresh cracked black pepper. Sausage patties were crispy edged sage goodness.
Everyone was friendly and prompt.
The only negative was a small table that I was seated had a bit of a short leg. Meaning that the table had as much coffee ☕ as I did from the first pour.
New table and everything was fine. They are good folks... Stop by and visit, I think that you will like it.
