Big Island Burritos

Cute, casual mexican joint with a well rounded menu. I ordered the Maui Mahi Tacos and I was quickly brought 2 massive, flavorful fish tacos! I'll be back

I’ve been eating here several times weekly for years. The food is good, the portions are plenty, and the wait staff treats you like family. But interestingly, the thing I find the most intriguing is that tax is included in the menu price, and all prices are in $.25 increments. It shouldn’t be so remarkable, but for the longest time, Big Island was cash-only. So paying and receiving change in only quarters was a breath of fresh air. They now accept credit cards, but they have maintained the price-includes-tax and quarter-increment-only ethos. It’s so convenient that I try to evangelize the same concept to other locally-owned casual restaurants and coffee shops, and mention BIB by name when I do.

But while the pricing is simple and a breath of fresh air (as well as quite low!), it’s certainly the employees that keep me coming back all the time. I live only a couple miles away, and any time I have time to spare, I like to stop in for a beer or three, even if I’m not hungry enough to order food. I’m always welcomed, and they always wave when I leave.

I can’t recommend BIB enough. Truly a place where the locals hang out.

I had the BIB bowel which had lettuce, cheese, beans, jerk chicken and more. Typically, when I eat out, I eat half of my meal and save the other half for later (sort of a weight management thing). That was not possible with this bowel. It was GREAT! I enjoyed it so much that I simply couldn't put it down. It's a bit too much food for one sitting but somehow I managed. A great meal at a fair price. The service and atmosphere were also very good. This was my first time there and it surely won't be my last.

First time visit. This place is unbelievable in today's market. Clean, neat, the best most friendly staff. Kelly greeted us immediately and patiently answered our questions and made recommendations. Burritos were HUGE and delicious. HIGHLY recommend!
