What a wonderful setting, and a very enjoyable meal. Surprisingly, the food was only so-so, but it was a delightful experience despite that.
Potato pancakes were relatively flavorless and very small and too thin to have any taste; sugar snap peas were too greasy and overcooked --- no "snap" left; apple strudel was reheated until the pastry was mushy ... and so forth.
Even so, somehow the place just clicked.
Don't miss the smoked grouper fish dip --- outstanding.
On balance, it was a great time and a most pleasant dinner.
Been in area 29 years, our favorite restaurant. Beautiful place for dinner Nd to watch the sunset. Highly recommended for special occasions and out of town guess. Nice waitresses and beautifully run by Renee and Dennis. See you soon. Eddie and Ella Edwards.
Beautiful!!! Wonderful view no matter where your seated. We were seated immediately, wait staff is very attentive. Menu is extensive....haven't had Schnitzel since in Germany and it was wonderful as were all the other side dishes offered!!!
The first thing you notice is how far off the road the restaurant is. When you pull into the driveway you just pass by what appears to be an apartment complex of a sort. At the end of this driveway, you will pull right into the restaurant. The place is an old house turned into a restaurant. Really cool!
We were sat in the back which used to be an old patio or screen porch. The view was really great! Looking right out to the water. There is a nice dock providing the type of view you seen on postcards.
Service was really good!
The food was really good! Very happy! The potato pancakes were good. The sauce that comes with the potato pancakes was really great! The sausage platter was a good way to try the full variety of sausage. The braised beef was really good and cooked perfectly.
This by far was possibly our favorite restaurant when we visited our son who lives in Melbourne. Our son was always telling us about a great German restaurant that he ate at. I got the vegetable platter, which I like vegetables. Don't remember what my husband or son got. But we all agreed that it was delicious. The service was great, too. My son and I had a chocolate torte type cake for dessert. Oh my that was good!!! I will have to return to Melbourne again someday and have some more of the yummy cake. Oh, and the beach veiw was extra beautiful! So nice!
