I grew up in New England where fresh seafood is around every corner when your near the coast.
Went here for the 1st time for Father’s Day and can’t wait to go back. I had the whole fried clams which I’ve not been able to find here in Florida and they were delicious!! Just what I wanted. My husband had the basket with fried fish pieces. It was so much food that he had to take some home. Our companions had a basket with scallops and they said they were the best they’ve had in Florida. Our only complaint was we all had onion rings and we all felt they were way too greasy.
The atmosphere was very casual and relaxed though a bit loud. We sat outside and because it was an overcast day the heat was very tolerable with whatever fans they had moving the air.
I highly recommend New England Eatery.
First time there. Didn't know what to expect but I didn't expect what I found. The food was delicious - I had blackened shrimp and crab cakes and 0 complaints. The atmosphere was laid back and casual - my fave. The location of this establishment will easily lead you to know that its filled with locals. And sometimes... you just wanna go where everybody knows your name. ????????
Stopped here Thursday after a long hot day of exploring wildlife refuge. $2 happy hour beer plus steak & cheese Philly was just right. Bartender was friendly, and the locals seemed to be greeted by name. Great place for lunch or dinner.
Great service & decent food. Reminiscent of a fishing shack with little ambience. Mom's favorite restaurant for their fried New England Scallop basket that's best in the County! Also have Ipswich clams!
All I can say is WOW! This place has some of the freshest, cleanest, tastiest fish and seafood that I've had, and I've traveled a lot. I had clam strips and battered cod. The cod had just the right amount of batter fried to a golden brown and flaked off perfectly on your fork. The clam strips were actually the best clam strips I have ever, ever had, they were fried to perfect crispness while still maintaining fresh flavor and were nice sized and meaty; best of all, not a single grain of sand. Definitely adding New England Eatery to my list of places to frequent!
