La Cubanita Sandwich (formerly Cuban Sandwich)

Before, when I would drive by, it was dark and drab... when it was open. New owners, made great appealing changes. My experience, I drove by thought they were closed. Turned in anyway. There was a man outside with the backdoor open, I asked about the operating hours. He asked if I wanted to order something, I looked at my watch... it was 5:58 pm. Two minutes until closing and they were all cleaned up and ready to walk out. He told me to go around to the front. He went inside and unlocked the door for me. He told me to order whatever I wanted and he said they were happy that I came there to try their new restaurant (they took it over from the previous owner). I met the La Cubanita herself. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. The Cuban was great, as well as the Empanadas. 2 minutes from walking out, knowing that they would have to reclean. That was phenomenal to me as I did not want to impose myself upon them. It was on a Wednesday evening, which probably was not that busy of a night. I have told so many people...

Really good Cuban sandwich and Ropa Vieja. New ownership has cleaned the place up quite a bit and freshened the interior.. Ambience is a basic lunch place. You go here for the food not the atmosphere, thus, the 4 stars instead of 5. If you want good Cuban food that is reliably consistent at a good price, eat here.

They totally revamped the place the Cuban sandwich I had was amazing , I will definitely be back soon. Everybody was extremely nice and great service as well as food. I love the plantains.

The staff were really nice. The sandwich was great. They have a big TV and the were playing soccer which is a plus, it is hard to find a place like this in Melbourne.
