Outback Steakhouse

Excellent this evening..
Last time the stakes were a tad dry but that was the only time..
We're usually very happy with Outback..

Full Disclosure: I am not one to give a big box restaurant a favorable rating, only because the experience, food, and ambiance is so predictable and cookie cutter. These places make great for when you're celebrating and such, but when it comes to finding a unique meal - not so much. Well, this particular Outback at this particular place, surprised me...

Foodwise - it's about as good as any other Outback I've been too. Nothing overly spectacular and the food is solid enough to enjoy and not give it a second thought. What made this place 'different' was the service.

From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out, the staff was on point. They were welcoming, friendly, and oh so helpful. When we were offered up our first place to sit, we saw another location and they happily took us there instead.

The waitress, however, was the true star of the show. I wish I could remember her name (Veronica?) was a true pro. Super friendly, told us what she was going to do and then followed through, was patient with us as we changed our minds during the ordering process, and then kept our drinks "bottomless". The best thing was, she was chatty. And anyone who has read my reviews knows I like 'em that way - and boy was she - very personable, as well. Anyway, at one point we ordered dessert, their NY-style cheesecake, and had the choice of either having it drizzled in chocolate or raspberry. When we asked if we could have both, it was not a problem. However, when the cheesecakes came out, they were only drizzled in chocolate, which we fussed none about. But when the waitress noticed, she quickly brought us raspberry syrup (and lots of it) for us to drizzle on what remained of our dessert - top notch service.

This dinner out at a big box went a very long way to remind me that service still does matter in this day-in-age. What I expected to be a hum-drum experience turned out to be a wonderful meal, out.

Had a nice family dinner. Caleb, our waiter was top notch. Could used a few more like him. Thoroughly enjoyed the steak special that included dessert. Definitely pays to be a Dine Rewards member. Eddie Edwards

Top notch to be a national chain. The service was great. The food was great. Making the little guys looks bad at this location. Keep up the good work!

Service was quick and friendly. We had drinks within minutes of seating. And food was very good for a chain restaurant. Steak was well prepared and salads and sides were good. Highly recommend the Bleu Cheese vinaigrette they offer. We got what we expected.
