My wife and I spent Valentine’s Day dinner here, what a pleasure it was. That atmosphere there makes me want to go back. Our waiter, LANCE, was amazing! As busy as they were my wife’s glass was never empty. He wasn’t “overbearing” like some can be but seemed to keep an eye on his tables. This was my first time visiting black rock, but I plan to return on the days Lance is working. His service was outstanding. Thank you!
My party of 4 loved it. The overall experience was enjoyable and the service was excellent! We got there just before the start of the Dinner Rush. We order the Pretzel Bits and Sizzling Mushroom Appetizers. Both were Tasty! Two of our party order Steaks that you cook at your table on the Black Rock. They loved it and we had the Fish and Chips and Chicken dish. Price after the meal was quite affordable for the experience. I will be back when I visit Ft. Lauderdale.
The steaks are their main dish here. They have a variety and the idea is to cook steak on hot slabs of rock. They have a nice steak sauce that is not what you expect at all (in a good way). And there's also a decent garlic butter. As a reference, I had the steak and rib combo.
For sides, their mac and cheese and mashed potatoes are pretty good. The cocktail presentation left some to be desired though. They used well glasses instead of whiskey glasses, which made it feel a bit cheap. I actually wanted a beer, but their list was not impressive at all. This is one reason why I dropped the rating.
I also had dessert, which was a brownie with ice cream. It was ok. This is too damn big, but it was also more of a piece of cake than a brownie to me.
Overall, I felt the place was good, but not enough to receive 5 stars.
Service was an A, Kelly was super sweet.
Food was a B+, really yummy. Got the sizzling volcanic rock with steak. The aroma of the garlic butter on the stone was amazing. Our burgers were super messy! And OMG the truffle fries were to die for.
The sizzling black rock shrimp was amazing, I had a fish sandwich and we finished it off with a brownie. The brownie was massive and a little dry but of course the ice cream made up for it! Will definitely come back!
