“This was my first time at Marti’s. My friend and I were seeing a show and decided to stay close to the theater so we could enjoy good food, the river, and catch up. Our server was wonderful. She was attentive and always had a smile. The drink from the bar was good. The menu is set for the night and offered unique choices of everything from the appetizers to dessert. The appetizer was good, a fried kimchi flavored rice ball. The people at the table next to us said the shrimp Bloody Mary was uneventful. Flat. Bland. The biggest disappointment was the main course, which was to be butternut squash, farro and risotto. My dish did not have any butternut squash, only a chunk of a hollowed our skins filled with farro. The farro/risotto was dry and flavorless. Risotto is creamy, no? I tried to scrape out squash from the skin, but it was hard-not cooked. $70 for one person is a lot of money to be this disappointed. We won’t be going back.”

“Wonderful and memorable find. The Cuban sandwich was great and so big my husband and I split the meal. The rice is tender and beans tasty. The Cuban coffee was brought at no charge while our food was prepared and was amazing. The musician that was performing was so good that I thought he was a dj playing recordings. Parking is bumpy but it’s worth it. Outdoor seating only though there are covered spots available.”

“I give this sandwich shop mixed reviews. My friend had a sandwich that was too bread heavy. I had the Philly cheesesteak which was still slightly bread heavy but had a nice flavor overall. The cheese was nicely melted and the bun toasted. They also offer pies but I did not try assuming my cheese steak would meet my caloric intake for the month. The sandwich shop has a nice atmosphere with an outside sitting area. It has a very millennial vibe. A downside is that parking is very limited and it’s expensive - a combo with a drink and chips will run about twenty bucks.”
