Warm welcome and very friendly throughout. Family run business. Uncle is head chef and you will see him try and burn his eye brows off many times as the kitchen is open plan. :))). The food talks for itself. Full of flavour. Indian spice and Indian heat. We will be going back. Chicken jalfrezi is a must try. Medium heat….
My husband and I live in the neighborhood and decided on a low-key night out. We had driven by a couple of times and decided to try it. We split the Mixed Platter. The lamb was my husband's favorite. I liked the lamb, but it a warning to the faint of heart, IT IS SPICY! My favorite was the tandoori chicken, but honestly all of it was really good. I paired mine with Chardonnay, my husband, the Cabernet. We were happy to find that they stock very good wine on the shelves and prices are great! You order your wine and they bring you a bottle of what they have in stock to approve. The service was very good. I think our server was the owner. The food was delicious. It was a large enough portion for a couple to split and we were both very full at the end of the meal. I highly recommend giving them try! We will definitely add Miami Spice Guru to our neighborhood favorites!
We really wanted to love this place especially based on the reviews. We love Indian food and were excited to try it. We were a little disappointed.
The samosas were good (just fine). Our main entrees were off, though. Decent, not horrible, but off... I have never seen palak paneer look crumbly and i am not even sure it was paneer. Cheese cubes don't normally crumble like that and it looked more like the consistency of fried tofu including color (maybe the paneer was burnt?). Something was off with the flavor profile of my dal tadka (wasn't sweet enough) and the color didn't look like what I'm used to.
The ambiance could have been a smoothie shop except the music. I was hoping more for an authentic Indian look and feel of the place.
The service was pretty good, except when we asked for extra rice to go with our leftovers the waitress went into a whole spiel about how they give less rice so as not to waste because they notice it doesn't all get eaten, and then something about how the rice tastes like plastic when cold anyway. She looked like she may have regretted saying that. (I ate my leftovers cold and the rice tasted fine so I'm not sure what she was talking about, but don't say that stuff to your customers who are about to take your rice home and eat it cold!)
I will give them this: the spice levels are legit. Most places, level 10 is not hot enough for my husband. Here, the spice level of "death" actually made my husband hiccup and sweat. Also, the garlic naan was some of the best we've ever had. But alas, this was not enough to get them a great review in our book or to get us to go back. There are other places we like and also want to try.
Absolutely delicious food. We had Onion Bhaji to start and Chicken Madras (medium heat) with Garlic Naan for main course. Staff are very friendly and we strongly recommend that you check this restaurant out. 5 stars all around
Muna, Rafiul, Sheikh, Chef Sohel were all wonderful. Very family oriented place, anyone coming in is treated with amazing hospitality. As a person from New York and having experienced Indian food, this is 100 times better. Even if you have never had Indian cusine, the menu is so delicious that it doesn’t matter what you are used to eating, you will love it. The service is amazing and honestly the food is that flavorful and authentic that more people need to experience this place. Go! You will not regret it!
