This quaint cafe just opened up a block from my house. Pleasant surprise to find that this is not the owner's first location. I heard that Ally's matzo ball soup had won awards, so I tried a small bowl, and it did not disappoint. The soup had strips of tender chicken meat and a good sized matzo that was in the sweet spot of the density scale, not overly fluffy but not super dense. It's a must try menu item, in my opinion. For my quick brunch today, I chose the egg salad sandwich. It was quite good, a classic take on the dish, which I appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed. The real winner was the side of homemade coleslaw, which was literally the best I've ever had. I have been informed that Ally's weekend specials are noteworthy, so I will certainly be coming back again to try more items!

Home style cooking with a friendly staff. I always have a great visit. The pancakes and grits are the best around.

So I decided to try this place. I didn't realize the time and had inadvertently got there at closing time. So next day I placed an order to be picked up. It was fabulous! Perfectly done cheese omlette, great sausage and an unbelievably good chocolate egg cream (just like NY)! I recommend this place! I cant wait to try the lunches! Love the lunch menu!
