My first time here and this is authentic New Orleans cooking. I just had their Shrimp and Sausage Gumbo, Blue Crab and Beignets. Excellent flavors, love the Sausage especially and my first time having Beignets. That Caramel Rum sauce with the Beignets are the perfect dessert. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
I ordered the Mardis Gras Creole Sausage & Shrimp Gumbo. Normally when you find a restaurant serving Gumbo in South Florida, they tell you it’s “our take”, but this is authentic and stays grounded in a home cooked feel. I don’t normally leave reviews but I truly hope this place gets the support it needs to become a local staple. We’ve lost too many of them.
So glad I came across this place on ubereats!!! The food is so delicious and just what we’ve been missing in South Florida. The jerk chicken gumbo bowl is perfect.
I wanted gumbo and used Google to guide me. I found Gumbo Twist and I am so glad that I did.
First and foremost, if you're looking for your traditional dine in restaurant...THIS ISN'T IT. The chef is a brilliant woman that saw a. Eed and rose to the occasion. When you arrive call or text and your food will be bought to you.
Second, the food is DELICIOUS! While we waited (they were making fresh rice for us) the chef bought the passionfruit and mango drinks for us to try. I went home angry at myself for not buying another one.
Third, when I arrived home I loved the packaging 100% sustainable and perfect for to go orders. The gumbo was in a separate container from the rice and meat. And we had a delicious surprise in our bag...BREAD PUDDING. I'm definitely going back to try their other dishes!
I ordered for the first time last week and was pleasantly surprised with how delicious the food was. It tastes like real food, not restaurant food. It’s not overly salty, it’s flavorful, fresh, good portions. I hope the quality stays like this forever. It really tastes like it’s made with care and good quality ingredients, which is rare these days. The only thing I wish was different was the chicken curry. I prefer chicken curry made on the bone because plain thigh meat, if not prepared well, can be too chewy and rubbery.
