4-17 Southern Speedway and Events

Racing is something that goes farther than running a car around a track. My husband was a driver. Racing is a family event, gets in your bones. The smell, friends, family all combined into a whole lot of love. My husband passed this year but I will forever see him battling for first place in his #18, seeing him defeated, and some of the best friends we ever knew...

Great place !! Nice to see someone supporting grassroots racing. Prices are good! Where can you go and watch multiple divisions for $20.00. Grandstands are full.

This race track seems pretty old and has seen it's day.. Maybe even pretty ugly some might say. Even though this track looks old at fist glance it has been paired with a nice newer style bleacher seating to keep it looking more modern and up to date. The seats are nice and very accommodating for all. With addition to the lawn seating that is also available 4-17 can accommodate hundreds of people if not thousands (idk) . The speakers are VERY loud so you will not miss what is being said( if the cars aren't passing). Ear plugs are available if the noise is a problem which it will be for some... Food at the concession stand was reasonably priced and what is to be expected from a concession stand.. There was a nice condiment bar for your hamburgers and hotdogs etc, as well as a dedicated beer line which is good because it speeds up and streamlines the turn over rate / customer wait time.. overall this old track seems to have kept up will the times fairly well and is a decent place to check out.. 4 stars because the speakers are little too loud and the announcers talks right through when the cars pass and you can't hear anything he said and you miss it.. (during the placing races)
