We came here for brunch and experienced the rooftop. The ambiance was chic. There was cover to help protect you from the strong sun. The pimento cheese plate and apple cider doughnuts were our favorite. Highly recommend this place!!
Great service and the food was lovely! My server was very attentive yet not pushy. She was kind and reflected great skills. The food was excellent and well presented. We started with fried olives. They were pretty interesting; I’m glad we tried them. My friend ordered the Black Sheep Benedict and she loved it. I tried a taste of hers and wished I ordered that too. I had the Pastrami Hash. I didn’t care for it but was able to eat about half. The pastrami is cut in chunks and has a heavy smoked flavor, not what I was imagining.
The rooftop ambience and pricing was great. Our waiter was charismatic and awesome!
Now to the thick of it! The food.
I had the sausage omlette and my significant other had the pastrami hash. The first thing that stood out was the quality of the meat, eggs, and supporting potatoes. Black Sheep Restaurant prides itself on being farm to table style and it definitely shows. Was not disappointed by any means the favors of the dishes from start to finish.
We had also enjoyed a starter dish of their apple cider donuts and a cocktail called, Napoleon's Cup. Donuts were fantastic and the cocktail was a refreshing beverage for a brunch adventure on the rooftops of Jacksonville.
We travel from Orlando often and was very pleased to have discovered Black Sheep. Definitely will be adding this place to our favorites to visit again.
Thank you for the hospitality.
Have enjoyed meals and evenings at Black Sheep on numerous occasions. Their rooftop is great on a nice evening. Came today for a quick lunch and was somewhat disappointed with the service. Sat at the bar hoping it would be quick. The drink was decent but the bartender was flustered. Forgetting to make drink orders for other patrons and order placed a portion of my food order in for the kitchen to make. In his defense - he was tending to a relatively full bar of folks as well as the entire restaurant of drink orders alone. Ended up giving me my meal on the house. In the end, this is still a great location with awesome farm to table food. Will continue to frequent despite the less than ideal lunch today.
