Gemma Fish + Oyster

Ventured out this weekend to try some new spots on the Southside and Gemma was a 10 outta 10 experience from the moment I walked in! Atmosphere is glamorous, service is great, and the rooftop is worth the visit as well. Only had a few app bites of the late night menu but the Pork Belly was delish and the Shrimp with the chili oil 👌🏾
Lastly, the cocktails were great and thought out carefully. Either my Bartender Carlos is a Wizard or someone knows magic back there.
Can’t wait to visit again when I am back in Jax.

We’ve been wanting to try this new restaurant and I’m glad we did! We had great service and the food was delicious. We had the tuna poke and lobster pimento to start. They were both so good! I had the scallops which were amazing with the romesco sauce. My husband had the snapper which he also loved!

I'm a frequent, and the team here is WONDERFUL. I normally sit at the bar, and Kevin + Reed have both been so accommodating and attentive when I'm there, time and time again. The food is gorgeous and the menu stays fresh and updated regularly. Never had a bad experience here, it's always a pleasure. Great craft cocktails with clever names.

My experience at Gemma was amazing! I seen my gf post this place a few months back when it was in process of opening! I’m from Atlanta so yes food options are important to me ! So soon as we walked in service for seating was amazing ! Vibe was everything. I had reservations for rooftop. We went up seating was fast . Our waitress was amazing gave great drink options we had 3 (Florence) sweet /rum . I had dozen of oysters and the whole fish ! David the GM came around to our table and he was amazing ask us how were we and the food and gave us a little background about the opening and neighborhood! Love how he takes time to check on the crowds and make sure we are getting the service that’s expected today ! The atmosphere is everything!!! from the outside dining to the rooftop dining. It is absolutely lovely It’s a vibe. The food……. so I ordered the salmon and unfortunately it was way too salty whatever the seasoning that they had on the top of the salmon it was way too salty for my likings. I even chopped it up and I put it in my rice and it was still a bit too salty. The drink that I had for my meal was named Annabella. It was a sweet apple pear with rum I think along with champagne. It was nice and sweet. I was on the rooftop and although it is 42° in Jacksonville today the heating lamps that they had was really giving me the warmth that I needed to remain on the rooftop it’s s absolutely beautiful. It’s not all open so that all the wind is blowing on you. They have the shades that they put down so it doesn’t really feel like you’re just open to the elements. The bar is absolutely beautiful on the rooftop. You can sit back and watch the bartenders make drinks all day long. Very lovely very clean nice presentation. The seating on the rooftop is just comfy. Cozy. Very inviting. My vegetables and rice with my meal was very tasty. The presentation was lovely. My waitress was the sweetest most attentive, young Lady , her name was basically two initials and I forgot what they were already but she was absolutely delightful to have. Downstairs is a whole vibe the seating, the ambience is just lovely. I would definitely visit this place again will I get the salmon? Absolutely not besides my salty salmon the rest of my food was absolutely delicious.
