The wife and I gave this place a try today for lunch, based on the glowing reviews both here and on a local FB Foodies group. This place is located in the Marcus Pointe golf course club house. The atmosphere was OK, and was about what you would expect for a golf course cafe. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was OK, but certainly not to the level of the rave reviews. I opted for the Fairway burger with onion rings. The burger itself was dry and fairly tasteless. The bacon on the burger was very thick with a lot of fat and not much lean meat. The tomato was green, so not much taste there either. The onion rings were not onion rings at all. They were onion straws and very greasy. My wife's salad was actually pretty good. My take is there is no way it's worth the prices charged, and not worth driving out there to eat. If you're already there and hungry, OK.
I cannot say enough about this place! Whether it’s breakfast or lunch or one of the monthly Common Labor fine dining experiences, chef Rusty knocks it out the park every time!! Do yourself a favor and go try anything on that menu!
After trying the food truck a couple times we decided to try their new restaurant at Marcus Pointe. The food was fantastic, but it was a bit noisy because of the Thursday night trivia. We had the BBQ shrimp appetizer to start, and it was good but a bit on the salty side. For main courses we had the BLT -- be sure to get it with the included greens, blackened grouper sandwich, and the pot roast. All three of the main dishes were both excellent and a good value.
We look forward to a return trip.
Upon entering the Rustyc Spoon, we were greeted by Harper. We ordered the special, which was "Lobster Roll Bisque." The bisque was full of lobster and flavor. Then we had the "Nola BBQ Shrimp." A little bit of New Orleans on a plate. Great food in a fun atmosphere!
I eat here often. What a hidden gem. This is gourmet food. Fresh. Ridiculously tasty. Amazing portions. Friendly service. And for the price you can’t beat it. Plus the views aren’t bad either. You can’t go wrong here.
