True Grit American Bistro

Had lunch at true grit, enjoyed the Mac n cheese bowl with carnitas which were legit. My pal had the Philly sandwich and was very happy with her meal as well.

Had the pig pen bowl with grits, the chicken-strawberry salad, and the bread pudding. The entrees were tasty and well presented. The bread pudding was probably the best I have ever had. The consistency right on the border between solid and liquid.

What can I say, shrimp and grits made to perfection, very friendly and attentive service, even an invite and recommendation for a return visit. I gave 3 stars a little over a year or two ago. Even with current local staffing issues and supply limitations, this was an easy 5 star visit. Your hard work has paid off. Good job!

It's not fair that you have to choose between grits or Mac and cheese. My daughter had the Mac and I had the grits, both with the pig pen which was sausage bacon and pulled pork, and we shared. Both were awesome. Well go back again and try the burgers since they just won best burger competition. 🍔

Great little place. Food was very tasty, service was good and was not too pricey. Will definitely go back to try some of their other dishes.
