    Roommates the cook in the afternoon so I know first hand it's clean. Portions are worth what you pay. Great specials.

    I love this place. The staff and the customers are all so friendly. At least once per week I enjoy their lemon chicken soup, fried flounder, mashed potatoes, bread pudding , a coffee and all for for under $9. I'm happy to have found such a friendly place where a single woman can sit down and enjoy a meal alone... and not feel lonely.

    Mariner Family is the perfect name for this place. Based in a strip mall on Mariner near Elgin you will find a menu of familiar comfort foods and specials done properly, and quickly. Good staff too. I like a good inexpensive friendly consistent restaurant and here it is! In truth all of my many visits have been for breakfast and lunch. I'm looking forward to dinners there.

    This is the first time we have visited this “ma n pop” restaurant. It is right across the street from our church and I never even knew it was here until today. Definitely an enjoyable experience. Very large portions for a small amount of money. The food was delicious and the coffee was hot. Staff seemed nice and bubbly. We will visit again. I recommend. AAA ***
