I had a 5 and Dime. Hands down the best sausage gravy I've ever had, it does have a little spicy kick to it that made it the star of the show. The fried chicken has a delicious flavor that doesn't get washed out by the richness of the gravy. The biscuit was perfection. The mac n cheese was delicious and incredibly creamy. Service was excellent. Atmosphere is laid back and welcoming, clean and well lit. If you haven't been, you need to go.
A bit pricey is my only complaint, but their entire business model is based on real foods, sustainably harvested and made from scratch, which warrants the added cost over other standard breakfast places. Sides are ordered separately, but the plates are typically large enough that you dont necessarily need the extra food. My favorite is the five and dime - a biscuit with fried chicken, bacon, cheese, and sausage gravy. Order at the counter, find a seat, then head back to pick up your order when called out. You bus your own table. A cute twist on ordering is instead of offering your name you offer up an answer to a different daily question - favorite memory from last year, first celebrity crush, etc. Listening to the answers makes the wait go by quickly.
Everything about this place is amazing.... unless you're on a diet. The biscuits are excellent. Both sandwiches that I've tried were awesome. The people are always friendly. YOU DON'T need that side of mac and cheese. It's good, don't get me wrong, but the Buffalo chicken biscuit is SO GOOD. That mac and cheese would steal room in your belly from the main event.
Great chicken and biscuit spot. Fresh food, with a fair price for a good quality made meal. I suggest the "Sticky Maple" if you enjoy chicken and biscuit meal. I have been there several times and very busy during peak morning hours. Family environment and fast service. Give this place a try, as it's a good spot.
My wife wanted to try this place and I thought it was going to be a run of the mill fast food chain type of experience. Boy, was I wrong! We were by the front door checking out the menu when an owner, Troy, came over to help us and could not have been more gracious. I chose The Five (biscuit, sausage gravy, cheddar cheese, pecan wood bacon, chicken), which is sinfully delicious. Each component was perfect. I never order chicken out, but this is the best chicken outside of my mother-in-law’s. My wife had biscuit, gravy and scrambled eggs. She loved it! The sausage gravy is phenomenal. I will suggest to take an appetite with you, because it is a meal. We were comped a cinnamon biscuit, and yes it was heavenly. Can’t wait to tell all our friends. Maple Street awaits you...enjoy!
