Metro Diner

There were nine of us there last night for dinner. We got there at 6 and were seated immediately . One couple shared the ample chicken tender salad, I had the chicken tender plate, with the optional mashed potatoes & vegetables in place of the fries & Cole slaw. The generous portion of chicken was tender & flavorful, just a little spicy. The summer squash & zucchini were grilled just right. One in our party had the turkey dinner complete with cranberry sauce & her husband had the roast beef dinner. Another had the hamburger plate (best ever!) another the Metro club sandwich (huge), and another the jumbo chicken pot pie. He ate the whole thing though he had not expected to do so. The pot pie is a little deceptive in its presentation. It is not as large as it appears, due to the very shallow dish, and the crust hanging way over the sides. But it was tasty, "like Mom used to make." Everyone was very happy with the food & the service. A couple of us took home what we could not finish.

Manager never sat down constantly helping staff and rounding checking on customers. Great service starts at the top. Waiter (Jason) was great. Very friendly. Food portions huge. Flavor 5+ stars. Please come to Brandon. Fried chicken and waffles. BBQ pork and Mac n cheese waffles.

If you haven't been to Metro, you're missing out. I was floored at the amount of excellent food they offer for the low price- and in South Tampa, no less! I had the biscuits and gravy, which came with eggs and hash browns. The portions were more than ample: two giant biscuits halved, smothered in sausage gravy, and a heaping pile of hash browns. I left full and very satisfied! I'll definitely be coming back to try the meatloaf next time.

Great food and service. Truly the best diner in town. Biggest bang for your buck. I enjoyed a burger and it was cooked perfectly. The sauce they use made the flavor really come out. Highly recommend

It is always tough finding places with bomb southern food - this is the place to go! Aside from Fred's Kitchen, amazing chicken, sublime mac and cheese and one of the FEW places I find cornbread I like (which was the only thing I tried at Fred's that wasn't superior). The shrimp and grits is to die for and the portion sizes - YES! We received great customer service to top it all off. Such a great experience and a must for Tampa Foodies.
