Tried this after the recent Tampa Bay Times review. To be honest, it is highly over rated. Mission BBQ and 4 Rivers are better. The prices are very high for the quality of food and service you get here. The reason for all of the high reviews is South Tampa people can't seem to find Mission BBQ north of Kennedy.
Excellent pulled pork sandwich! Friendly staff. Good music. Carrot cake cupcakes are delicious. 4 stars!
Ate there for the first time. Amazing service, the smell is out of the world. Elaborate menu with BBQ classics, and unique dishes too (can’t wait to try the Deviled Pig, a pork based deviled crab-type dish, or the Que-ban sandwich). We shared brisket, a sausage, slaw, Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. The brisket was moist, appropriately fatty, but not at all greasy. The sausage wasn’t really that spicy but was tasty. Mashed potatoes are WELL above average-creamy, garlicky with good salting. The slaw was actually fairly pedestrian, but honestly it’s slaw, and was good when in top of the meat. The only thing we didn’t really love was the rolls, they were kind of hard, and we would have preferred something better, or even just soft white bread as is traditional. Overall we REALLY liked this place, and hope they do well so we can keep going there!
Lovely BBQ, lots of great options for meat and all my favorite sides. We got the smokehouse platter with burnt ends, pulled pork, beans, creamed spinach and Mac & cheese, plus pretty much every sauce they have (except vinegar because vinegar BBQ is gross) and everything was delightful. Would definitely return and recommend ????
Best BBQ in Tampa. Hands down.
After many visits since their opening in Fall 2018, I have landed upon the sliced beef brisket as my favorite of their offerings.
All the sides are amazing. I recommend the pig powder fries and the beans, but you can't go wrong with any of them.
The sauces are delectable and 5 varieties: sweet, spicy, "Florabama" white, vinegar, and mustard. They come on the side for most orders so you can choose your favorite (or none at all).
Go in and get some delicious meats!
